Condenser Recommendations:
Alembic Copper Dome & Condenser:
During a stripping run, the alarm function on the beeping alarm thermometer generally speaking, is not required.
During a spirit run, the alarm function can be useful if you are taking cuts based on head/vapour temperatures. If following the temperature guide in our Alembic Copper Condenser instructions:
- During the heads section set the HIGH alarm to around 83-85°C (181-185°F) to indicate transition from heads to hearts.
- During the hearts section, set the HIGH alarm to around 90°C (194°F) to indicate the transition from hearts to tails.
T500 Column & Condenser:
If you are using a Beeping Alarm Thermometer with your T500 these guidelines can be followed:
- Once your Boiler is turned on set the HIGH temperature alarm at 5°C (41°F) above ambient (the temperature
displayed before starting the boil). - Once this temperature is reached, the alarm will sound, turn on the water supply, then reset the HIGH alarm to your desired temperature.
- We recommend setting this to 65°C (149°F) or 1-2°C above your stable distilling temperature.
T500 Pro Column & Condenser:
The following recommendations are included in the T500 Pro instructions:
- Once your Boiler is turned on set the HIGH temperature alarm at 5°C (41°F) above ambient (the temperature
displayed before starting the boil). - Once this temperature is reached the alarm will sound, turn on the water supply, then reset the HIGH alarm to your desired temperature.
- We recommend setting this to 80°C (176°F) or 1-2°C above your stable distilling temperature.
NOTE: Temperatures indicated in the above recommendations are a guide, this may require tweaking based on your distilling conditions.
