Safety
Distilling pure spirits often comes with rumours around blindness and other side effects - this usually comes from the consumption of methanol. If the correct distilling method has been used you will make safe to consume spirits. Please see the individual instructions relating to the specific still being used for distillation in order to consume alcohol with safe levels of methanol and ethanol.
Legality
Please note that in certain countries alcohol distillation and the possession of distilling equipment is illegal and permits/licenses may be required. For guidance, contact your relevant local authorities.

- In New Zealand, it is legal to distil your own spirits and liqueurs for personal consumption.
- In Australia, USA & Canada it is illegal to distil alcohol for consumption or sale without the necessary permits and licenses from the relevant authorities.
- In the UK, it is illegal to produce spirits without a distillers license from HM Revenue & Customs.
Alcohol for Biofuel
