The Gin Botanicals range is perfect for creating delicious blends of homemade gins.
Still Spirits has a great range that can be used with any of our stills and below is some information on how much botanicals you should use with our different stills. For more information on the distilling process, please see the Botanical Basket Instructions.
Please note, depending on the blend of botanicals, there might be some dust from the contents that is to be expected, but this shouldn’t be excessive and shouldn't cause any issues while distilling. If there's too much dust you could encounter problems with caking.
Air Still & Air Still Pro
When using botanicals with the Air Still, only add 30-35g of the botanical packet of your choice to your botanical basket for use in the Air Still.
Please note, 35g is the absolute max as using the entire pack can cause issues while distilling mainly a build up of pressure if the vapour path is restricted.
T500
When using botanicals with the T500, please remove the saddles from the condenser first. Add the 60g botanical packet of your choice to the botanical basket for use with the T500 Stainless Steel/Copper Condenser.
It's important to not invert the basket when it contains the botanicals or you will run the risk of the botanicals falling into the column.
For more detailed instructions see here.
When using botanicals with the Alembic Pot Still, add the 60g botanical packet of your choice to the botanical basket.
Instead of using the stainless steel nut, secure the condenser arm to the dome using the head of the Still Spirits Botanical Basket.
It's important to not invert the basket when it contains the botanicals or you will run the risk of the botanicals falling into the condenser arm.
