The temperature will gradually rise throughout the distillation.
At the beginning of the run, you can expect a temperature of around 75 - 78°C (167 - 172°F) and this would go up 95 - 98°C (203 - 208°F) during the run.
As the alcohol is extracted from the wash, the boiling point of the wash will increase as there is a greater proportion of water than alcohol. This is similar to a pot still temperature rise during distillation.
The thermal cut-off switch will trip if the temperature of the element exceeds 120°C (248°F). This would only occur if the boiler is run dry as the heat would have nothing to dissipate through.
